After 46 years in Kelowna the Orient Family Restaurant at 2689 Pandosy Street is closing its doors.

Chefs and owners Victor and Chun Hui will be retiring according to the Orient’s website.

“Being a part of this community and getting to know each and every one of you has been an incredible journey. We are left with amazing stories and memories. As we reflect, we are also filled with gratitude for the support from our loyal customer base and staff throughout all the highs and lows,” said the duo.

However, while the owners of the restaurant might be retiring the Orient has been purchased by a new chef and restauranteur couple with more than 16 years of experience in the industry.

“They share our passion for great food and hospitality, and I know they will continue to delight your taste buds and warm your hearts long after we have hung up our aprons,” said the Hui family.

The current Orient will continue operations until the end of May.
